Ralph “Radar” Kiziah
January 1st, 1927 – August 22nd, 2021
Born in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Ralph Franklin and Flossie Radar Kiziah. Radar was a United States Army Veteran, serving during WWII and Korean War. Radar was a lifelong member to American Legion Post 48, VFW, Catawba Valley Tractor Association and big supporter of Hickory Fair. He enjoyed farming all his life and retired from the Postal Service.
Dale “Pops” Reese
December 27th, 1945 – September 1st, 2021
Dale was born in Alexander County, to the late Clarence and Blanche (White) Reese, growing up on the family dairy farm. Dale completed the auto mechanics program of CVCC in 1966 before enlisting in the U.S Air Force, serving from 1966 to 1970. Dale was a part of the American Legion Post 48, Catawba Valley Tractor Association and big supporter of the Hickory Fair. Dale was a self-employed sawmill operator. Many generations of children have enjoyed his handmade wooden crafts and toys.
